Our Story

Helping you ride through the toddler years

The toddler years are tough enough, you shouldn’t have to sacrifice weekend rides or your morning commute on two wheels because your kiddos are too young to bike (or keep up). As mountain bikers and parents, we married Glen’s engineering degree with Ashley’s MBA to found Ride More, so we can all keep riding, together.

Waa u sure but now certain.

Purchased the rope to tow my 3 year old boy and was u sure with how he would go with the concept of towing but within 5 min he had picked it ul and the rope worked perfectly with the right amount of elasticity.

Skeptical prior to ordering but now essential pack along...

Although I have been using the beloved MacRide for 7 years (and still going strong on kid #3) I wasn't convinced about the Towee. Firstly wouldn't it just jerk the kid at a terrifying speed at some points, and drag dangerously along the floor at others? Or wouldn't a bungee do the same thing for far cheaper? Let's be honest, I'm constantly forking out for these kids and their (my) expensive hobbies, was this really worth the money?
Absolutely, conclusively yes. I'm on my 3rd one (more about that in a minute) and when I was without it was a nightmare!!
Kid #1 and kid #2 were on MacRides but then when #1 was biking she wasn't able to keep up, we had gears after all, so purchased Towee 1. Then kid #2 biked but kid #1 still needed help on the hills so purchased Towee 2. Then broke a Towee (read the instructions - you CANNOT use these in the cold so for fat bikers who go all year you need another plan) and was sent a replacement. Yes the fab MacRide team replaced it, including postage. Brilliant service, fast and compassionate to those that don't ftfm.
I now have a Towee for kids #1 and #2 (one each side) and kid #3 on the MacRide. Erm yeah I ride an e-bike [and the MacRide adaption for e-bikes worked great on my super fat Norco].

Amazing tool. A great way to get the kid father up the road or trail so we can both enjoy more decent. Mountain living has its challenges and this really helps get the kids out riding. The length when compressed is perfect and amazing how long it can get. “Hey dad I’m not even pedalling”.

Brilliant

We call our towwhee ‘The Red Snake’ and it allows much longer rides with my five year old in tow.
We started using it when he was on his Strider and I just walked/ran, so we both learned how to use it from a young age.

Well worth the money

Critical bit of kit if you live in hilly Devon! I always say "I'll pull, you steer". We've not had any incidents - there's no sudden lunge forward and as long as the kid's paying attention it works perfectly. Easy to stash in a pocket or bag or even wrap around your handlebars. The only problem is that I have to hide it otherwise I get requests for it at every tiny hill!
